How To Use A Concrete Breaker

It’s important to always follow safety guidelines when using a concrete breaker and to never use it  if you are unsure of how, or if it is in poor condition.

Additionally, make sure to consult the manufacturer’s instructions for specific operating and maintenance procedures.

  1. Prepare the area: Make sure the area you will be working in is clear of people, pets, and any other obstructions. Put on appropriate personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, ear protection, and work gloves.
  2. Assemble the concrete breaker: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to assemble the concrete breaker, making sure to tighten all bolts and fittings securely.
  3. Connect the power source: Concrete breakers can be powered by electricity, compressed air, or gasoline. Connect the breaker to the appropriate power source and make sure all connections are secure.
  4. Choose the correct bit: Select the correct bit for the job, based on the type and thickness of the material you will be breaking. Make sure the bit is securely attached to the breaker.
  5. Start the concrete breaker: Turn on the power source and start the concrete breaker. Place the bit on the concrete, and gently apply pressure until the bit begins to penetrate the surface.
  6. Apply pressure: Slowly and steadily apply more pressure to the concrete breaker, letting the bit do the work. Avoid striking the concrete too hard, as this can cause the breaker to bounce and reduce its effectiveness.
  7. Move the concrete breaker: Move the concrete breaker back and forth, gradually breaking the concrete into smaller pieces. Use smaller bits for finer work and larger bits for faster work.
  8. Stop the concrete breaker: When you have finished breaking the concrete, turn off the power source and disconnect the breaker. Store the breaker and bits in a safe and dry place.
