First Aid Training Courses in Scunthorpe

The Automated External Defibrillation (AED) course teaches the essential skills for using a defibrillator, and provides confidence to know what to do in an emergency.

Over 3 hours you will cover:

Candidates successfully completing this course will be entitled to act as a first-aider in the workplace. This First Aid at Work course includes the 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work course and also equips the first-aider to apply first aid to an extensive range of specific injuries and illnesses.

Successfull candidates will be awarded the Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate valid for 3 years.

Unit 1 covers the following topics:

  • roles and responsibilities of a first aider;
    • cross infection;
    • recording incidents & actions;

This programme provides delegates with the essential knowledge to operate Push Around Verticals safely. This IPAF training course instructs an operator how to manoeuvre and position Push Around Vertical access machines (PAVs) safely and proficiently. Operators who are already trained in categories 1a and/or 3a will also be able to use a PAV after being familarised by a qualified person with the specific machine.

Location: Online Learning

  • Duration: 4 hours total e-learning
  • Who should take this course? Employers, project managers, foremen and supervisors working in a broad range of industries such as construction, facilities management, retail, airports and arboriculture. Anyone who is responsible for planning and overseeing the use of MEWPs on their job site. This course is about planning, supervising and managing the use of MEWPs, and not about operating equipment. It ends with a written test that candidates must pass.
  • The eLearning version of the IPAF MEWPs for Managers course enables candidates to undertake the tuition in convenient sections and pass the online course at a time and place of their choosing, on compatible PCs and tablet devices. It utilises sophisticated facial recognition across the online training and evaluation session to ensure the candidate’s identity and to prevent any attempt to obtain the qualification through fraudulent means.
  • Upon successful completion of the theory test, candidates will receive an IPAF certificate. Those who hold a valid Powered Access Licence for operating equipment can have the MEWPs for Managers (MM) category added to their PAL Card.

Duration: Half day online course

  • This course is essential for anyone who will personally use a harness in a MEWP. Sufficient for people who will use a Harness but will not conduct statutory inspections on behalf of an organisation. MEWP operators are advised to complete both the HA and HU course.
  • You will learn how to use harnesses and lanyards in MEWPS. Conduct pre-use checks of harnesses and lanyards for use in MEWPS.

Who for: Theory and practice assessment to Inspector level

  • The Harness Awareness (HA) and Harness User (HU) Courses must be completed prior to booking this course. This course is essential for anyone who will personally conduct statutory inspections on behalf of an organisation.
  • Upon completion candidates will have the qualification added to their card digitally. Candidates without a PAL Card will receive a digital certificate accessed via the IPAF ePAL app.

  • This category training for PAL+ is only open to operators who hold an existing PAL card qualification in the relevant category.

PASMA Training Courses in Scunthorpe

This one day PASMA training course is suitable for anyone who will be using mobile access towers at home or at work. Delegates who have never used towers before or those who already use towers but have never been formally trained. Delegates re-taking the course after an earlier qualification expires would need to sit the full course.

People Also Ask

International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) provides globally recognised courses to those who wish to become operators. These courses can cover anything between mobile elevating platforms to mast climbing work platforms.

IPAF card is known as the PAL card, and it expires in 5 years’ time. Once it has expired and you’re eligible for a renewal test, you can contact the IPAF training centre, and they’ll be able to help you with that.   

A Telehandler Training takes between 1 and 4 days to complete, but this totally depends on the learners own experience and how fast they learn the information. 

Yes, like with any other MEWP, you need a licence to drive a telehandler. You might even have to be over 21 to drive a machine that weighs over 7.5 tonnes. Make sure you check out all of these requirements before singing up for a telehandler course. 

Yes, you can fail an IPAF test, however usually you can re-take the next day after you failed. Before you do that, get in touch with us to discuss this.  

The average Telehandler salary in the UK is £31, 145/year or £15.97/hour. As usual, the amount of salary depends on what kind of experience you already have. If you are new to the industry, then expect to start with 28, 275/year.

These trainings prepare operators for safe working on-site when operating different types of MEWPS, such as cherry pickers, scissor lifts, and more.

You need to pass one of our certified cherry pickers or boom lift courses in order to operate it. Once you’ve done that, you’ll get a ‘PAL card’ which tells what courses you’ve taken and which machinery you can operate.
